FINDING A GOOD LAWYER
We didn't want to even think about a Chapter 7 filing, but we really began to think we would have no choice. Debbie and I dreaded the thought of having to go and find a lawyer, but we couldn't put it off to much longer. Our creditors were leaning heavily on us, and it would only be a matter of time before one of them put us into bankruptcy. This was the worse possible situation. We had tried really hard not to get to this point. We have the dubious distinction of having ruined a 100 year old business. This was weighing heavily on us. We had employees to watch out for and they depended on us. There was not much we could do. We just didn't see it coming. We're only human. We eventually made an appointment with a lawyer, and he had some advice for us that we took with a grain of salt. Debbie really didn't want to do a filing. I didn't want to either, but I just didn't see a way out of this. To say that I was worried is an understatement. We didn't know what the future would hold.
