HOW TO BE A DAD

Posted in: Blog

I told my friend Nick over and over that he needed to break up with his girlfriend, but he never listened. He said he liked her a lot and it wasn’t really that serious and they were just seeing each other for the meantime. Now she’s pregnant and she’s already putting together a list of everything she’ll need: a baby organizer, a crib, baby clothes, baby food, etc. Which is actually quite sensible except for the fact that she doesn’t have a job. It would be nice to think that maybe Nick could pay for everything, but he has a horrible part-time job as a line cook and makes around 400 to 500 a month total. He still lives with his parents and she still lives with her. Sure, Nick and her are really excited to be parents, but I don’t think the reality of the situation has hit them yet. This is one huge responsibility and I hope both their sets of parents will help them out and I have to assume they will since they haven’t thrown Nick and his girlfriend out of their respective households yet. I’d like to be able to help, I really would, but I’m struggling to get by myself. What am I supposed to be able to do for them?
