LIFE SAVER

Posted in: Blog

I was playing Rock Band with my roommate one night and when you pick a song, little bits of information about the bands show up. One of the most interesting things that popped up was about a band member who used to be an emergency transporter of organs for transplants. I could not concentrate on playing the song correctly because I kept wondering what that kind of job is like, and how do you go from that to being a recording artist. I would think there would be and significant amount of pressure to get the organs to where they need to be in time, knowing that someone is waiting for it to save their life. I might be able to see how that kind of pressure could translate to the pressures of being on stage and making an album, but it is the whole getting there part that confuses me. Did he just one day pick up a guitar, get his friends together and say “Hey, this transporting organs thing is for the birds, we should start a band.” Well I guess I cannot really talk, however they decided to get into it, I was sitting there playing their song on a video game, so I guess it worked.
